Outgrowing
the Morristown facilities, ground was broken in 1964 on the site where the
business stands today - 5 Eastmans Road, Parsippany, New Jersey. The
move and two building additions facilitated an era of rapid growth,
product development, and key acquisitions.
The Morgan Crucible Company, Windsor, UK, acquired the business in September of 1986. A strong management team weathered the very difficult times that most defense contractors endured during the late 1980's. The business prospered again during the 1990's and on September 1, 2000, the business was acquired in a buy-out by key management. The acquisition from Morgan also included MBM Technology, Brighton, UK. At the same time, Emblem Group Limited was formed and serves as the parent to each business. The result was a strong and synergistic organization with greater capability for growth and to meet the needs of our customers. In June of 2003, the business was aquired by EDO Corporation, which is headquartered in New York City. Today, Artisan is comprised of some of the
original Artisan products, which include defense contracting, molded
cable, and helicopter pressure indicators. Additionally, we are now
experiencing rapid growth from the development and marketing of new
products such as, ZRF Arming Units and programmable power
controllers. The
employees of EDO Artisan are looking forward to meeting the
challenges of the future and taking their place in our history, rich in a
tradition of success and achievement. |
